Kiarra Zackery

Director of Equity and Inclusion, Twin City Metro Schools

Kiarra Zackery is the Director of Equity and Inclusion for an Intermediate School District in the Twin Cities Metro. Her career in educational equity encompasses work at all levels of education and systems. This includes work in early childhood with the Kids Count On Us Coalition, K-12 education in her current position and work Robbinsdale Area Schools and in post-secondary as an advocate for increasing educator diversity. Kiarra’s passion for racial equity and justice reach beyond education and into housing as a founding member of the Just Deeds Coalition. Kiarra helped recruit and organize city partners to join the coalition and make policy and social changes in their jurisdiction to address racial injustice in housing. Kiarra integrates her lived experience as a Black woman with her educational experience evidenced by her Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education and concentration in Equity-based Pedagogy and Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology. Kiarra is a lifelong Minneapolis resident. She resides in North Minneapolis in a formerly redlined neighborhood with her two daughters, husband and dog.
