Research Associate, Geography, University of California at Berkeley, Mellon Fellow Faculty in Geography, Dartmouth College

Jane Henderson is a Mellon Faculty Fellow in the department of Geography at Dartmouth College. Broadly, her research considers Black geographies beyond the plantation, and specifically the relationship between blackness and the frontier. As such, Jane’s archival and ethnographic research asks: What is the place of blackness in settler colonial geographies and how have Black people navigated settler colonialism in Minnesota? Jane grew up in St. Louis Park, holds a B.A. in Ethnic Studies and Spanish from the University of San Diego and received her Ph.D. in Geography from the University of California, Berkeley.
